Under 15's
After a lengthy lay off due to the inclement weather Scorpions returned to cup action with a second round fixture of the NWC development cup versus Thatto Heath Crusaders from St. Helens.

Scorpions started brightly with James Revell, Tom Downing and George Higgins making good breaks early on. The visitors scored first but Scorpions went close when James Armstrong was held up with the try line looming. A very neat off load from Christian Roberts sent Connor Walker clear only to be taken into touch with some awesome tackling from the visitors.. Thatto Heath were never allowed to run away with the game as expected because Scorpions made them work hard in all areas of the game. Jordan Tierney and Joe Phelps commanded the middle of the field and Connor Walker and Aidden Stuart ran the wing brilliantly.

At the half time interval Thatto led 16-0 but soon after the restart Blackpool were rewarded for their hard work as James Revell collected the ball and jinked his way to the line for a well deserved try. Jordan Tierney converted with a difficult kick from the left side. Joe Roberts performed well at hooker spreading the ball at every opportunity. Oliver Winter powered up field only to be halted with some crucial tackling from the visitors. Christian Roberts showed some lovely off loads to his supporting players and Aidden Stuart’s strong running with the ball was relentless. Thatto then had a purple patch of play mid way through the second half with some lovely flowing moves and scored several tries to take the game out of reach to the home side. Scorpions never say die attitude paid dividends towards the finish of the game. They powered up field with James Armstrong, Connor Walker and Tom Downing making the meters. Jordan Tierney kicked to the corner where Joe Phelps anticipated the kick well, collected the ball and promptly side stepped two defenders and placed the ball down for a well worked and well developed try. Jordan Tierney then stepped up and converted from well over on the right side.

Scorpions could be proud of their all round team effort against a well drilled and very professional 1st division side. Pick of the bunch were: Jordan Tierney, George Higgins, Connor walker and man of the match Tom Downing.
