Scorpions went into this penultimate game of the season with team moral very high. Hard work in the last few weeks on the training pitch paid off with a very hard working and polished performance against a team that stood in third place of the NWC division 3.

Immediately from the kick off Wolston went over for their only score of the half which they converted. Scorpions then took a strangle hold on the rest of the game with some quite outstanding rugby league. James Armstrong and Scott Butler both at prop continually bombarded the Woolsten defence. Time after time Scorpions made many meters up field with strong runs from Tom Downing, Aiden Stewart, Connor Walker and captain George Higgins. Joe Phelps and Jordan Tierney further developed their half back partnership with some quite exquisite ball handling feeding James Revell on the right wing to score Scorpions first of five converted tries in the first half. The other tries were equally as good from Tom Downing, Joe Phelps, George Higgins and Ashley Davis on his return to Scorpions right wing after a lengthy time away from the game. Woolston had no answer to Scorpions power in the forward line and when the half time break came along the home side looked battered and completely out played. Joe Roberts had his best game at hooker for Scorpions for some considerable time, he distributed the ball with ease around the pitch and with powerful support play from centers Connor Walker and Aiden Stewart Scorpions continued their impressive skills into the second period. James revell scored two further tries to complete his hatrick whilst Aiden Stewart was rewarded with a fine solo try after strong running from deep he dived over from close range
Oliver Winter and Christian Roberts tackled hard and at every opportunity made good meters carrying the ball. Woolston were well beaten on the day by a well drilled and hard working Blackpool team that never gave up and unlike recent games never stopped working for each other. Tierney and phelps continued to combine well and cause Woolston major trouble all around the field. Captain george Higgins again impressed with 110 % effort. James Armstrong gets better every game while Scott Butler was awsome for the whole game with his fierce tackling and impressive support play. At the final whistle Woolston looked very tired and well beaten while Scorpions march on to the last game of the season next sunday at home to Warrington rivals Culcheth Eagles.
